My name is Sabine Weyand. My interests lie in the field of clinical engineering, design, and bioinstrumentation. I have a passion for innovation and I am very interested in the development of biomedical devices and the use of information technology in health care.

I love teaching and I am currently working at the University of Toronto as the Biomedical Engineering Design Studio Coordinator and as a course instructor for a Entrepreneurial Biomedical Engineering Capstone Design course.

I received my PhD from the University of Toronto under the supervision of Dr. Tom Chau. My doctoral research explored the development of a more intuitive access technology for individuals with severe motor impairments. Specifically, I developed a neurofeedback-based near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) brain computer interface (BCI).
